The National Gallery showcases a huge variety of art historical artworks, both Scottish and international. Admission is free. Family-friendly features include a buggy park (requires a coin to operate, similar to a swimming pool locker), baby changing facilities, and regular exhibitions aimed at children. There are no dedicated breastfeeding facilities, but staff told me that they would be happy to open up a room in the education area on the first floor if it was not in use. Large branch of the popular retailer, with both clothing and foodhall sections, as well as an in-store cafe. Our review is for the toilets on the basement level, within the foodhall. Signage in the store indicated that they are in the process of installing new toilets on an upper level, so additional facilities may be available in future.

Branch of the popular Italian restaurant chain, located at the west end of Princes Street. As I was solo parenting on the day of my visit, this review only includes the facilities in the female toilets; I'm not sure if there are also baby changing facilities in the male toilets.

Aesthetically-pleasing, spacious play place aimed at babies and toddlers. Hot drinks and a selection of snacks for adults and wee ones are available for sale.

Artisan coffee shop on Dalry Road, near Haymarket station. The cafe has high chairs, as well as coloruing materials and picture books for kids. When we visited there was plenty of room for the buggy, and staff enjoyed interacting with the wee one.
