Home and furnishing store with a strong family-friendly emphasis. The store offers 60 minutes of free childcare for 3-10 year olds in their creche. Our current review is limited to the restaurant area, but additional baby changing facilities are available and we plan to add information on these on a return trip. The restaurant has a curtained-off nursing area. There is also a small children's play area, baby food-warming facilities, and high chair and children's cutlery available for use.

Large garden centre stocking a wide range of plants, gardening equipment and garden furnishings. It also sections for clothing, books, food, pet care and gifts. The cafe is popular, with plenty of space for prams, and offers cakes and hot food. There is a small farm shop on site, adjacent to the main garden centre building. The surrounding Mortonhall estate offers lovely walks, and the chance to see some Highland cows!

The National Gallery showcases a huge variety of art historical artworks, both Scottish and international. Admission is free. Family-friendly features include a buggy park (requires a coin to operate, similar to a swimming pool locker), baby changing facilities, and regular exhibitions aimed at children. There are no dedicated breastfeeding facilities, but staff told me that they would be happy to open up a room in the education area on the first floor if it was not in use.
